titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR PRODUCING VERY PURE ZIRCONIA.
abstract A process for the production of high-purity zirconia, which comprises the steps of leaching dissociated zircon or other zirconiferous material with concentrated sulphuric acid, and thereafter separating the resulting zirconium-containing product from the unattacked silica, characterized in that water formed during the leaching reaction is continuously removed from the system preferably by using an air-cooled reflux condenser to maintain the temperature in the range from about 300<o>C to the maximum boiling point.
