Firefighting procedures. |
abstract |
A liquid extinguishing foam consists of halogenated hydrocarbon (s) serving as hydrocarbon (s), preferably fluochlorinated hydrocarbon (s), and tensides serving as foaming agent. The hydrocarbon (s) are introduced into the foaming agent so as to form a homogeneous aqueous or gel-like extinguishing foam. Mixed with water, this gives an extinguishing emulsion which does not deploy all its activity and which only foams at the source of the fire. This extinguishing foam can be transported over great distances, thus making it possible to fight fires over long intervals and has particularly good adhesiveness. |
