A compound used in the treatment, prophylaxis or diagnosis of disorders caused by Shigella dysenteriae toxin has the formula (I), in which R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, alkyl or lower acyl, provided that R1 is not hydrogen when R2 is acetyl, or R1 and R2 form with the nitrogen atom to which they are linked a cyclic imide, phthalamide for example, and R3 is hydrogen, an organic residue, such as '' a carbohydrate residue, or the residue of a natural or synthetic glycoconjugate. A composition comprises this compound associated with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient or diluent. A treatment method makes it possible to determine the presence of the toxin, a method makes it possible to identify or quantify this compound, and a method makes it possible to isolate the toxin. |
