abstract A fermenter for the cultivation of microorganisms or of cell or tissue cultures is described. The fermenter consists of a film tube (1) closed with end plates (3, 4), so that a cylindrical space is formed. In the end plates, standard internals (5, 6, 7, 8) such as agitators etc. are used in fermenters. In a further development of the invention, the film tube is assigned a precisely supporting jacket, which can be placed on the cylindrical tube during “in-situ” sterilization and thus supports the tube.
