titleOfInvention Hybrid cells producing a hepatitis B virus antigen obtained from hepatocytes and established monkey cells, process for the obtention of these hybrid cells and use thereof in the production of this antigen
abstract The invention relates to hybrid cells transformed or transformable by cloned DNA containing the sequence coding for the HBs antigen. They are characterized in that they contain, on the one hand, at least part of the genetic heritage of monkey hepatocyte cells and, on the other hand, a genetic marker allowing them to grow in a selective medium or containing an active principle normally lethal for VERO cells from which the hybrid is derived, but inactivable by the polypeptide expressed by said genetic marker.
