abstract The invention relates to a method for cleaning containers, in particular steam generators. Deposits are chemically dissolved or removed mechanically. It is envisaged that existing copper compounds will be chemically dissolved and then loose deposits and liquids will be mechanically removed. Then remaining incrustations are chemically softened and finally the loosened deposits and the remaining chemicals are rinsed out. Hydrogen peroxide is introduced into the contaminated containers to oxidize deposits made of metallic copper.
