abstract In the method, the information is transmitted by means of a controlled thermal head, through which one or more vaporizable and / or fusible substances of the formula (I) A - Xn (I) are transferred to the plate. In formula (I), A is an n-valent hydrophobic radical, X is a hydrophilic group and n is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. The previously hydrophilic plate surface is rendered hydrophobic by (I). The process allows the production of printing plates without photomechanical steps.
