abstract |
Method and device for applying an active ingredient in the form of an aerosol. A transducer (22) for producing an aerosol includes a propellant inlet port (96) and a chamber defined by at least one chamber wall (128) confluent with the propellant inlet port. A swelling body serves to create at least one vortex (152) in the chamber as the propellant enters the inlet port under supersonic flow conditions. An orifice (118, 146) spaced from the swelling body and separated from the latter by the chamber wall serves to create an outlet vortex (154). |
