abstract The invention relates to a method for regulating the temperature in rooms which have heating or cooling devices with thermostatic valves. The heating or cooling devices are fed by a central heating or cooling source. The difference between the flow and return temperatures influenced by the thermostatic valves is determined in the total mass flow and the heat or cold source is controlled accordingly. A setpoint range has been created for the difference between the supply and return temperatures, within which the permissible values of the temperature difference lie. The entire setpoint range with the upper and lower limits can be moved according to the requirements, and in the areas outside the setpoint range the respective actual value can be regulated towards the setpoint value.
