abstract |
High molecular weight liquid esters can be prepared by reacting primary branched alcohols with polymeric fatty acids to produce liquid esters. The primary branched alcohols are further characterized by having a minimum of 28 carbon atoms and are preferably unsaturated with a minimum iodine value of 40. The esters are useful as lubricants, release agents, plasticizers, solvents or a modifier additive for such compositions. |
