titleOfInvention Method for the transmission of signals between a data exchange and a telephone exchange, especially a private branch exchange
abstract A cooperation between a telephone private branch exchange and a data processing system is assumed. From the latter, for example, control data for an automatic connection sequence between two terminals (T1, Te or T1, Tn) can be transmitted to the private branch exchange (NA). In the course of processes in the switching system, which are initiated by the data processing system, at least some of the characters transmitted between these systems are structured such that the useful data section of a character, which also comprises at least one control data section, contains both the information required directly for an operation to be initiated thereby and also contains additional information about one or more switching processes and / or other processes associated with this process. When the connection is controlled by the data processing system, for example a character in its user data section can contain information about the respective call duration of the individual terminals between which the connection is to be established. It can also contain information about the type of receipts required. Such a summary can save additional characters to be transmitted, as a result of which the data throughput required does not lead to overloading of the data channel, in particular for special use cases, such as for wake-up calls.
