O-silylated ketene acetals and enol ethers are prepared via the 1,4-hydrosilation of a hydrosilation composition selected from the group consisting of aminosilanes, siloxanes and alkylalkoxysilanes with an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl in the presence of a rhodium catalyst. These compounds consist essentially of:n (a) O-aminosilylated ketene acetals and enol ethers of the general formula:n (b) O-siloxanesilylated ketene acetals and enol ethers of the general formulae:n (c) O-alkoxysilylated ketene acetals and enol ethers of the general formula:n wherein R, R 1 and R 2 are individually alkyl or aryl group and R can be hydrogen; R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R 7 , and R 10 are individually alkyl groups, R 8 is hydrogenor an alkyl or aryl Z is selected from hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group and an aryloxy group and a is 0 or 1, b 0 or 1, y has a value from 1 to 500, z has a value from 0 to 499, and, the sum of y+z equals from 1 to 500 with the proviso that if z is 0, a + b must equal at least 1; x is 1, or 3; and v is 0,1 or 2. |
