Compositions based on zinc compounds with selected amino acids such as glycine (aminoacetic acid) in a carrier substance. This can be a sweetening agent such as a base of soft or hard caramel, syrup, chewing gum, toothpaste or the like. These compositions have the advantage that the unpleasant and undesirable tastes and aftertaste of the unformulated zinc compounds and of the zinc compounds mixed with a support substance are significantly reduced and that the products can be allowed to slowly melt in the mouth to obtain nutritious or therapeutic results. Also described are methods for satisfactorily preparing the compositions described above. |
