titleOfInvention | Method for making a preferably binder-free mat of mineral fibres, mat of mineral fibres so obtained, and apparatus for carrying out said method |
abstract | For stapling a mineral fiber mat (7) which is in particular free of binders, stapling points are generated in that the fibers (3) are fixed in their mutual position in the stapling area by mutual welding or gluing. Welding can be carried out using laser beams, hot air jets or flame jets. When gluing, tack points are created in the form of pins (6) in that a flowable, solidifiable substance in the form of a compact fine jet is shot into the depressed wool web (1) and solidified in the shot position. As a result, the ends of the fibers (3) are glued in the hardened material of the pin (6) and thus secured in position in the compacted position. The mineral fiber mat (7) has a mattress-like appearance. If necessary, the material for forming the pin (6) can be inorganic based on water glass or silica sol. In this way, tack points can be generated at high speed in the course of the production of the wool web (1), and thus a mineral fiber mat (7) free of, in particular, organic binder can be created without loss of production speed. If necessary, an additional thread (8) can be anchored in the pins (6), which is also included. |
