titleOfInvention | Hydrolysis-stable flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate |
The present invention relates to a flame retardant based on free-flowing, powdery ammonium polyphosphate of the general formula in which n is an integer with an average value of about 20 to 800 and the ratio of m to n is about 1, the mean being a) about 75 to 99.5 mass% ammonium polyphosphate and b) about 0.5 to 25% by mass of a reaction product from a polyisocyanate with a trimerization catalyst, the polyisocyanurate enveloping the individual ammonium polyphosphate particles, exists, and a process for its preparation. The result of this invention is a hydrolysis-stable, microencapsulated flame retardant. |
