titleOfInvention | Process for preparing alkaline or neutral sized paper or cardboard with anionic, hydrophobic sizing agents and cationic retention aids |
abstract | Anhydride group-free, aliphatic, unsaturated sizing agents, some of which are known and some of which are new compounds, which have a single N-C6-C22-alk (en) ylamide group or C6-C22-alk (en) yl-ester group as hydrophobic substituents and at least one have anionic group, in particular N-C6-C22-alk (en) yl half-amides or C6-C22-alk (en) yl half-esters of an aliphatic, unsaturated C2-C6-dicarboxylic acid, or their salts are particularly suitable for this purpose, together with commercially available retention agents a process for the mass sizing of paper or cardboard at a pH of at least 6.5 of the fiber suspension in the absence of, for example Aluminum sulfate or to be used in a process for the surface sizing of paper. |
