abstract Charge-transporting compounds of the general formulawherein R, up to R<sub>3</sub> inclusive represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 up to 4 inclusive carbon atoms and a photoconductive element containing a charge-generating compound and a charge-transporting compound according to the general formula, which charge-transporting compound is homogeneously distributed in a binder. The charge-transporting compounds are very soluble in various solvents and film-forming polymers, thus providing a great maneouvrability in processing into layers. In addition the compounds form substantially colourless layers which have a minimal residual charge and a good cleanability.
