abstract |
The performance characteristics of alkaline primary batteries are improved by reducing the resistance between the cathode and the positive current collector. The resistance is reduced by applying a thin, non-continuous coating to the positive current collector. The reduction in resistance afforded by the coating is so dramatic that unplated steel can be used as the positive current collector. |
