titleOfInvention | FREQUENCY SYNTHESISER WITH ACCURATE CONTROL THAT HAS AN INPUT SIGNAL WITH A UNSTABLE VARIABLE FREQUENCY. |
abstract | Precisely regulated frequency synthesizer capable of fine tuning the frequency of an output signal to maintain a desired frequency difference between an input signal and an output signal, regardless of the frequency stability of an input signal. The synthesizer has the basic elements of a phase-locked loop (PLL) type circuit. The PLL circuit part detects the effective frequency difference, an A value, between the input and output signals. A reference source provides a desired frequency difference, a D value, representing the frequency difference between a stable input frequency and a desired output frequency. The difference between the frequency difference values A and D serves as a standard for setting the frequency of the output signal. This setting represents the amount of compensation required to maintain a specified frequency relationship between input and output signals. |
