titleOfInvention Process for obtaining an organic nitrogen base, insoluble in water, from water soluble hydrochlorhydrate of said base, and process for manufacturing sodium bicarbonate
abstract Process for obtaining a nitrogenous organic base insoluble in water, starting from a water-soluble hydrochloride of said base, according to which the hydrochloride (7) is treated with water and a deficient amount of an agent basic (13) capable of decomposing the hydrochloride, the aqueous phase (16) of the reaction mixture (14) is collected and treated with a supplement of basic agent (19). The process applies to the regeneration of the amine in the manufacture of sodium bicarbonate by reaction of a sodium chloride brine, a water-insoluble amine and carbon dioxide.
