(1S, 4R) -4-Hydroxy-2-cyclopentenyl esters are obtained in high optical purity if hydrolysing meso-cis-1,4-diacyl-2-cyclopentenes in the presence of porcine liver esterase. Various new derivatives of these compounds have been made. They serve as intermediates for the synthesis of drugs. |
