Process for combating nematodes and soil-nesting insects in agricultural crops, comprising applying to the infestation site a composition containing as active ingredient a compound of formula RZ- (CH2) nQ, where R is an alkyl radical of one or two carbon atoms bearing from one to four fluorine substituents and from one to three bromine or chlorine substituents, represented as CFpX (3-p) - or CFrX (3-r) -CFsX (2-s) - ; Z is - (CH2-CHX) - or - (CH = CH) -; X is chlorine or bromine; Q is methyl, isopropyl, tert-butyl or C3-C6 cycloalkyl; n is from 5 to 12, so as to produce in the compound a chain of 10 to 16 carbon atoms; p is 1 or 2; r is 2 or 3; s is 0, 1 or 2. A process for the preparation of compounds of active ingredients is also described and the usefulness of the compositions against nematodes and soil-nesting insects is demonstrated by examples. |
