According to the invention, they can be obtained by reacting allyl or methallylammonium salts with hydrogen sulfite in the pH range from 2.0 to 4.0 in the presence of a peroxodisulfate, optionally in combination with other oxidizing agents, in aqueous solution.n n n The new compounds can be used as surfactants which are active in a wide pH range and can be used as reactive intermediates. |
