PRODUCTION OF cDNA REPRESENTING SEQUENCES OF THE HEPATITIS A VIRUS |
abstract |
Hepatitis A virus cDNA production processes, related products and their uses. Hepatitis A virus cDNA is produced, for example, by reverse transcribing hepatitis A virus RNA and subsequently inserting viral cDNA into bacterial plasmids by genetic engineering techniques . The bacteria thus transformed are then cloned and cultured to produce replicas of chimeric plasmids containing the cDNA of the hepatitis A virus. This viral cDNA is useful in the screening tests for the hepatitis A virus and in the production of l antigen of this virus, as well as in the production of antibodies against the hepatitis A virus. |
