| abstract | A compressible pharmaceutical composition is disclosed ncomprising an interactive ingredient such as codeine, a comnpound such as polyvinylpyrrolidone which acts as a binder and na filler such as lactose. The composition is granulated and can nthereafter be dry blended with other active ingredients such as nacetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, sodium naproxen or the nlike. The mixture may then be tableted in the usual manner to nproduce a tablet having physical properties comparable to ntablets in which all the active ingredients are wet granulated tongether, yet avoiding the intimate contact between the ingrendients which can result in undesirable interaction and adversenly affect the stability of the active ingredients. |
