Phosphonic acid esters obtainable by reacting organophosphonic acids of the general formula R-PO 3 H 2 , in which R is preferably an alkyl group with 6-18 C atoms, with 1-10 mol, preferably 1-5 mol, of ethylene oxide and / or propylene oxide are suitable as additives to hair treatment agents, preferably to shampoos based on anionic surfactants and preferably ampholytic or betaine surfactants, to improve the combability of the hair.
