titleOfInvention | Process for biochemical optical resulution of cyclopentenolone derivative |
abstract | A process for biochemical optical resolution of 4-hydroxy-3-methyl-2-(2'-propynyl)-2-cyclopentenone, which comprises allowing esterase produced by microorganism or esterase of animal pancreas to act on an organic saturated or unsaturated C1 - C18 carboxylic acid ester of ( 9E)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-2-(2'-propynyl)-2-cyclopentenone to effect asymmetric hydrolisis for obtaining optically active 4-hydroxy-3-methyl-2(2'-propynyl)-2-cyclopentenone and its enantiomer. This process is simple in comparison with a conventional process of optical resolution according to an organic synthetic chemistry principle and does not require expensive optically active reagents, thus being industrially quite advantageous. |
