abstract |
The note picker mechanism for ATM cash dispensers has a friction picker construction having few, simple and low-cost components. The device has a feed roller (28) with a high friction rubber segment (42) which picks notes one at a time for each roller revolution or cycle. A counter-rotating separator roller (44) normally prevents picking doubles. Cooperative doubles detector detects doubles when picked and returns the doubles to the note supply stack (11). The picker mechanism has a biasing lever (33) which holds the note stack out of contact with the feed roller against stack pressure until the friction segment is in note separating and picking position. |
