abstract Method and apparatus for real-time high-speed object inspection (Figs. 1-2, 7a and 10a) of storing digital signal masking information (recognition memory) of optical scans of objects at magnifications different (Figs. 3-5, 8 and 9), but with the same field of vision, and to compare the digital masking information obtained by scanning objects to be inspected, with different magnifications, with the masking information stored to identify known or unknown parts of the objects, with an ability to adapt to rapid "teaching" of large sets of objects for the purpose of memorization and subsequent comparison with real objects being inspected.
