titleOfInvention | Asymmetrically modified boron hydride compounds, process for its preparation, and process for preparing optically active alcohol derivative using same |
abstract | Asymmetrically modified boron hydride compounds to be used for preparing optically active alcohol derivatives by asymmetrical reduction of ketone compounds are prepared by reacting an acid salt of an optically active amino alcohol of formula (I) with boron hydride or by reacting the optically active amino alcohol with borane in the presence of an inert solvent at -78 to 100oC. The compounds are used for asymmetrically reducing an azole type ketone of formula (II) to prepare an optically active alcohol derivative useful as a fungicide, herbicide or plant growth regulator and represented by formula (III). |
