abstract Disclosed are improved denture adhesive compositions comprising a hydroxypropyl guar having an M.S. of greater than 0.4, or a hydroxypropyl guar having an M.S. of 0.4 or less and an alkali metal salt of carboxymethyl cellulose having a D.S. of at least 0.3, in a petrolatum base. Optionally, the compositions can include a hydrophobically modified alkyl or hydroxyalkyl cellulose.
