titleOfInvention Method of producing implantable electrodes of glass carbon
abstract The invention relates to a method for producing implantable electrodes made of glassy carbon with an electrode head and an electrode shaft by pyrolysis of crosslinked synthetic resins. Electrodes produced by such a method have a high surface quality if the electrode shaft is first manufactured in the form of a blank (16) by hardening a resin precondensate, then on the blank in a goat mold (12) using a resin precondensate ( 13) the electrode head is cast on and crosslinked, subsequently hardened and then the pyrolytic synthetic resin is converted into glassy carbon and the electrode obtained in this way is optionally activated.
