A method is described according to which alkali salts, preferably sodium or potassium chloride, are added to the blood of slaughter animals which has just been removed from the vessels in the amount necessary to set an electrolyte concentration of 0.085 to 0.43 mol / dmĀ³, which corresponds to a concentration of 0 , Corresponds to 5 to 2.5 percent by mass of sodium chloride, and then the whole is left for a sufficient time to solidify in the entire volume, whereupon the product is subjected to thermal curing. The method according to the invention can be carried out with animal blood which is stabilized with alkali salts with the addition of diluent in the form of but, water or protein body carbohydrate substances which have just been removed from the vessels. The aqueous solutions and the protein body carbohydrate substances can show an acidic reaction, the pH being limited to more than 5.7. The product is suitable for consumption, feed, pharmaceutical or beauty purposes. |
