abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 7-acylamino-3-hydroxy-cephem-4-carboxylic acids and 7-acylamino-3-hydroxy-1-dethio-1-oxacephem-4-carboxylic acids and their derivatives of the general formula (1) in which R 1 , R 'and X have the meaning given in the description, by reacting compounds of the general formula (4) with a compound of formula (5) in which R 2 and X have the meaning given and Y represents diazo (N 2 ) or hydrogen (H 2 ), in an inert solvent in the presence of a Lewis acid or protonic acid catalyst.n n n According to a variant of the process, compounds of the formula (4) are used with a compound of the formula (6) as described above, the triple bond of the intermediate compound thus formed hydrates and sets the compounds of the general formula (3) obtained for Y = hydrogen (for Y = diazo, the compounds of the general formula (2) are formed directly in a solvent with an azide and irradiate or heat in the presence of a catalyst the compound of formula (2) so that the compounds of general formula (1) are formed. |
