abstract |
A method of decreasing the danger associated with nuclear reactors is disclosed. According to the method, the cool- ant is treated to remove deuterium to prevent formation of dangerous tritium. The preferred process uses a distillation column to continuously remove heavy and intermediate-weight water from a bleed stream. Light water is returned to the coolant circuit. |
