abstract |
C 4 -C 16 dialkyl sulphosuccinates are prepared as 30-50% by weight aqueous compositions at reaction temperatures above 85°C. In order to prevent a sudden large viscosity rise on cooling below 75°C, urea (10 to 30% by weight based on the dialkyl sulphosuccinate) is added to the reaction mixture as it cools. |
