titleOfInvention Hybrid dna synthesis of mature insulin-like growth factors
abstract Prodn. of human insulin-like growth factor (IGF) comprises growing host cells contg. a structural gene which comprises a functional DNA construct of the gene encoding IGF joined in proper reading frame with secretory leader and processing signal sequences recognised by the host, and isolating secreted human IGF. The structural gene is downstream from and under transcriptional regulatory control of a transcriptional initiation region in a vector compatible with the host. The host is pref. a yeast. A DNA construct comprising a coding sequence for human IGF under transcriptional regulation of regulatory signals utilised by yeast is new. Also claimed is a construct contg. the IGF gene for expression in a cultured cellular host. Nucleotide sequences are defined with corresp. aminoacid sequence.
