titleOfInvention Automated reagent blotter
abstract Apparatus is disclosed for aligning and simultaneously removing excess fluid from test devices (10). The apparatus comprises carrier means (11) designed to support a test device (10) used for the determination of constituents in fluid. The apparatus further comprises blotter means (16) supported and guided by the carrier means (11), said blotter means (16) being capable of moving along the carrier means (11) and contacting the test device (10) along one of the blotter surfaces. The surface of the blotter means (16) which contacts the test device (10) has characteristics to facilitate the removal of excess fluid present on the test device (10) upon contact of the blotter with the test device.
