titleOfInvention | Indwelling catheter for cervical canal |
abstract | An indwelling catheter for the cervical canal is made of a flexible rubber or resin and provided at its end with a gourd-shaped balloon or two independent balloons (3, 4). The catheter comprises: a medical fluid injection bore (5) formed in the narrow part of the gourd-shaped balloon or in the root between the two independent balloons (3, 4); and balloon injection bores (14, 15) for forcing a gas/liquid into the respective balloons and injection paths (6, 7), a medical fluid injection path (8) communicating with the medical fluid injection bore (5) which are formed in the tubular wall of a catheter main tube (1) or integrated with the catheter main tube (1), wherein the balloon injection paths (6, 7) and the medical fluid injection path (8) are arranged to branch off from the catheter main tube (1) at the other end thereof. The catheter is inserted into the cervical canal, and with the balloons expanded, the catheter is set therein by means of the Shirodkar operation to prevent flux of the amniotic fluid as well as the odynopoeia resulting therefrom, thereby not only effecting the prevention of various complications due to the vorzeitiger Blasensprung of a pregnant woman where her egg membrane breaks before the onset of labor but also positively delaying the expulsion until the fetus matures. |
