abstract |
Method and apparatus for controlling a stepping motor (36) and for detecting and controlling a force. Drive waveforms for a stepper motor (Fig. 6) are designed by a sequence of stair steps, the size and duration of which are determined based on the desired speed of the stepper motor. not. Also disclosed are means and a method of accelerating the stepper motor by varying the size and duration of the step of the steps in the drive waveform (Fig. 4). In addition, means and method are described for detecting and controlling the force applied by the stepper motor to a load by evaluating the displacement of the actual position of the stepper motor shaft from the commanded position or desired from the tree. Means and a method for implementing a compliance function (Fig. 13) are also described. |
