titleOfInvention PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING STRIED COMPONENTS FOR MICROWAVE.
abstract In the method of manufacturing ribbed microwave components, a billet assembly is formed of electrically conductive plates (10) sandwiched with a spacing material susceptible to chemical attack (20) and clamped together (30 and 31 ). An inner surface (40) is formed in the billet and a mandrel (50) is inserted. An outer contour surface (55) is then formed on the mandrel-billet assembly. The outer surface is then pressed (60) until a desired thickness is obtained. The mandrel (50) is extracted and the spacers (20) are removed by etching to obtain the finished component. With the method in question, it is possible to manufacture microwave devices for frequencies up to 100 GHz and more.
