titleOfInvention Process for the production of aminobenzoic acids from corresponding nitrotoluenes
abstract The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of aminobenzoic acids from the corresponding nitrotoluenes. The method according to the present invention is characterized in that the oxidizing agent used for the implementation of the first step, oxidation of nitrotoluene to nitrobenzoic acid, is regenerated at the anode of an electrolyser simultaneously ensuring the electrochemical reduction of the second step, reduction of nitrobenzoic acid to aminobenzoic acid.
