The present invention deals with the cleavage of organodisiloxanes with chlorosilanes in the presence of FeCl 3 as a catalyst. On the one hand, chloroalkylsilanes or chloroarylsilanes and, on the other hand, organosiloxanes, which are characterized by one or more -0-Si-R 3 groups (R = alkyl or aryl), are bonded directly to a Si atom, which in turn either contains the same group or an alkyl or aryl group. The process according to the invention is characterized by the simultaneous use of FeCl 3 and hydrogen chloride as a catalyst. The FeCl 3 is preferably used dissolved in organic solvents containing oxo groups. Preferred solvents in this group are ketones. In a special embodiment, phosphorus trichloride is added as a co-catalyst towards the end of the reaction. |
