The invention relates to mammalian, especially monkey, cell lines which are capable of producing growth hormone, preferably human, and excreting it in their culture medium. These lines are modified by a DNA fragment containing a sequence coding for this growth hormone and, preferably also, a sequence coding for a signal peptide associated with this growth hormone, immediately upstream from the preceding opposite. of the direction of transcription, the expression of this fragment being under the control of an exogenous promoter also incorporated stably in said cells. |
