titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of saturated linear esters by carbonylation of monoolefinic compounds |
abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of linear esters by carbonylation of monoolefinic compounds.n n n According to the present process, an alcohol and carbon monoxide are reacted on a compound containing a single olefinic bond, in the presence of cobalt, of a tertiary nitrogen base and, where appropriate of hydrogen, in a solvent chosen from heterocyclic compounds containing a single heterocycle; said heterocycle, formed of 5 or 6 members, contains from 1 to 3 non-adjacent heteroatoms, identical or different and, chosen from oxygen and divalent sulfur and can comprise, where appropriate, one or two carbon-carbon double bonds ; a 5-membered ring which can also comprise a nitrogen heteroatom, separated from an oxygen or sulfur heteroatom by at least one carbon atom from the ring and linked to one of the adjacent carbon atoms by a double bond .n n n The process is particularly suitable for the preparation of alkyl adipates by carbonylation of alkyl pentenoates. |
