titleOfInvention | 6-h-dibenz(b,e)(1,4)oxathiepin derivatives and their preparation |
abstract | 6-H-Dibenz[b,e][1,4]oxathiepin derivatives of the formulae I and IA are novel. They can be used in the treatment and control of allergic conditions such as allergic asthma. <CHEM> They are made by reducing the corresponding compound in which the (CH2)nOR<4> residue is replaced by a (CH2)n-1COOH residue. In the formula n is 1, 2, 3 or 4, Z is thia, sulfinyl or sulfonyl; each of R<1>, R<2> and R<3> is H, halogen, NH2, alkyl, alkylthio, alkylsulfinyl, alkylsulfonyl, CF3, CF3S, CN, NO2, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkoxy, alkanoyl, aralkyl, or hydroxyalkyl, or R1 and R2 together represent polymethylene, possibly oxo or hydroxy substituted; and R4 is H, acyl, alkylaminoacyl, alkylcarboxy, alkylcarbamoyl, alkylcarbamoylacyl or acyloxyalkyl. |
