abstract | The containers (10) used for the storage and administration of liquids for medical applications include a closure (12) and medical connection devices include connector members acting in concert. An article and method is described in which an outer plastic closure (12) is applied to the container closures (20) or to the connecting devices. The application of the external plastic closure (12) has an antibacterial effect in the connection zone defined by the interface of the external closure (12) and the internal closure of the container (20) and the neck (14), or defined by the interface of the external closure (12) and the place of connection of the connector members. The outer closure (12) is made of a type of plastic which releases a bactericidal agent, which provides an antibacterial effect in the connection area. |
