titleOfInvention Binding agents for stoving lacquers
abstract Binder for stoving lacquers which contain, as essential components, amine resins, in particular melamine resins, and polyester resins with units of I) 1,4-butanediol and terephthalic acid in practically equivalent amounts, the sum of the proportions of 1,4-butanediol and terephthalic acid being 8 to 60% by weight .-%, based on the total batch, and which also contain II) units of other trihydric to tetravalent alcohols and III) other dicarboxylic acids, the proportion of the at least trihydric alcohols being 20 to 55 equivalent percent and that of the more than trihydric alcohols being at most 10 Equivalent percent, calculated in each case on the total amount of hydroxyl groups and the proportion of aromatic dicarboxylic acids is at least 50 mol%. The invention further consists in the use of such binders for the production of stoving coatings with good adhesion and stone chip resistance.
