titleOfInvention | Luminescence test apparatus and injector assembly therefor |
abstract | A luminescence control device comprises photometric means (17) with associated reading device, an injector assembly (21) and a container with incorporated shutter for receiving a cuvette (29) or other receptacle containing the desired sample. test. The injector assembly includes a cylindrical enclosure (71), a cover (65), a supply tube, an injector (77) and a surrounding protective guide (83). A rotary shutter mechanism forms part of the container and uses hollow, coaxial shutter elements (33, 37), designed to block any passage of light, except when passage openings (41, 57, 59) in the elements are aligned. After the cup (29) carrying the sample has been placed axially inside the hollow obturator elements, the injector assembly (21) is lowered and brought into position. The cover (65) fits on the top of the movable obturator element, and the protective guide (83) aligns the upper end of the bowl in the axis and is withdrawn upwards, so that the injector ( 77) extends into the bowl. The injector (77) directs liquid against the side wall of the cuvette (29) at a location just above the level of the sample to produce swirling and rapid and complete mixing. As a result, reproducible control results are obtained. |
