Agent containing thiolate and process for removing heavy metal ions from diluted aqueous solutions |
abstract |
Thiolate-containing agent for removing heavy metal ions from dilute aqueous solutions, which is characterized in that it comprises a sorption complex of a thiolate with two or more -SMe groups (in which Me is alkali or ammonium) with a swellable silicate, the ion exchange capacity of which is 5 to 350 meq / Is 100 g. The agent is suspended in the aqueous medium to be cleaned and separated from the aqueous solution after the heavy metal ions have been taken up. The heavy metals can be recovered in a manner known per se. |
